What is 3D Mapping?

These days drones are helping people to map large areas in a quick, cost effective manner and to provide hard data that helps expedite workflows in a variety of commercial settings. Being able to effectively 3D map an area, gives the customer a chance to visual a building or piece of land in ways never thought possible a few years ago. 3D mapping stitches together multiple images of a focused area using a drone and creates a 3D map displaying things such as elevation height, measurements, and vegetation spots. These maps help construction managers, farmers, and business owners obtain the “big picture” and assist in strategic decision making.

The construction industry greatly benefits from drone mapping. Maps can be used to regularly update clients in the construction industry on the progress of their projects, analyze stockpiles of raw materials such as dirt and gravel, or even generate 3D models of construction sites.
